Homegrown Japanese yakitori specialist hand-grilling fresh chicken skewers at NEX since 2000.
TORI-Q at NEX is a proudly homegrown Singapore yakitori specialist with a legacy stretching back to 2000, when it opened its first outlet inside Takashimaya S.C. The brand's story began even earlier, in 1994, when founder Yohei Takeda arrived from Japan and opened a small takoyaki stand at Clarke Quay, later launching Takopachi at Takashimaya in 1996. Each stick of yakitori is hand-grilled to perfection and seasoned only with TORI-Q's specially formulated "tare" sauce, prepared fresh daily using the finest ingredients from a central kitchen. The NEX outlet on Basement 2 continues that 25-year commitment to affordable, quick and convenient meals, serving freshly grilled chicken skewers ideal for a bite on the go or to take home. The menu centres on yakitori, with the brand's quality carefully managed from preparation through to serving. It suits shoppers, commuters and families looking for a dependable Japanese-style snack without fuss.
Whether you are craving a savoury skewer between errands or picking up a few sticks to share, TORI-Q at NEX delivers consistent, freshly grilled comfort. It is a neighbourhood favourite that has grown with the local community - proof that good food, grilled with care, never goes out of style.

Always a long queue if you come after work hours. Still my go-to place to hit my protein intake.

Grilling meats on a stick till they are slightly charred to bring out out that smokey flavour while coating them in an umami rich teriyaki sauce is the perfect comfort food when you can't decide what to eat. Let the staff know to spam the sauce, seaweed and pickles on your rice for a sensory overload!

PD
I ordered 4 sticks ala carte with the addition of rice (generous seaweed and pickles). I feel that the chicken taste better than pork, while the fried item (karaage) is abit cold. Overall still a very good bento with their variety and taste
